Fireflies And Fireflies West 2001 – Present Day

septembre 27, 2018

The Fireflies Tour was established in 2001 in recognition of relatives’ and friends’ battles with Cancer. Five friends – Jake Scott, Adrian Moat, Nick Livesey (Directors at RSA Films), Tim Page (MD, The Quarry) and Chris Haworth (CSH Transport) – cycled from Geneva to Cannes to raise money for leukaemia research.

Over the last 15 years the ride has grown to hundreds of riders who have made the challenging journey from Geneva to Cannes across the high Alps — raising a total of more than £1.7m for leukaemia research and treatment.

Following the success of the Fireflies Ride in Europe Bryan Farhy organised the Fireflies West ride cycling from San Francisco to Los Angeles again raising funds for cancer research. Founder of CSH Transport Stuart Haworth and his son Chris have both completed the ride, Stuart raising and donating five thousand pounds towards further blood cancer research and development in 2011.
